Consumer Evaluations
I'm amazed at the extremely low evaluations these Summer Infant gates are obtaining. These gates are completely marvelous. They are incredibly sturdy, smooth in motion and they latch with a good, solid really feel. They appear terrific and can without difficulty be painted to match your decor. I didn't want hideous plastic gates uglifying my nice property.
I played with all sorts of gates, from plastic ones to wood ones to wire ones. I have 2 of these. I purchased them considering they are strong metal gates with dependable locking mechanisms and are exceptionally adjustable to varying-sized openings. I have one opening that is five feet wide and an additional that is three feet wide. My dogs and my son all beat on these gates and they're each performing excellent after two years.
Just like with any semi-permanent gate structure, installation is Really necessary. Do not let someone with no mechanical potential install this(OR ANY) gate. You have to have to know where the wall-studs are and you will need to adequately install gates plumb and level to be happy with the functionality. If you do not know what you are doing, locate your neighborhood handyman and pay him(or her) with the beverage of their selection. :) You know your skills/shortcomings.
Overall, I am pleased with the product. I obtain that it is a little difficult to open at occasions, but I really feel it is especially secure and sturdy.
